Seisenso is a Japanese style guest house located in the central area of Nozawa Onsen village in north-eastern Nagano Prefecture. The Yu Road moving walkway is less than 400m from the accommodation. Seisenso has 14 Japanese-style tatami mat rooms as well as shared bathroom and washroom facilities.
All the rooms at the Kawamotoya are Japanese tatami style with futon bedding. There are standard, deluxe, family and premium size tatami rooms. The premium rooms are on the 4th and 5th floors with great views of the village and mountains. Kawamotoya has its own private onsen bath, 100% pure and fresh from local healing springs. The restaurant features local cuisine such as nozawana pickles, rainbow trout, alps salmon, shinshu pork, apples and wines.
The View is aptly named: many of its rooms have stunning views of Mount Kenashi above the village, and the Chikuma Valley below. This spacious, airy property offers very comfortable western and Japanese accommodation, a short stroll from the moving walkway and thence the slopes. It’s a stone’s throw from several of Nozawa Onsen’s many great restaurants, 50 metres from the nearest “soto-yu”, or traditional public bath, and less than a minute’s walk to the starting station of the local bus service
‘Jon Nobi’ means relaxed and comfortable in the local Japanese dialect, and that is certainly what you will experience in this Japanese ryokan, which is a type of traditional hotel-style accommodation. Nozawa Onsen is famous for its natural hot springs onsens, and Jon Nobi has its own in-house onsen. Rooms are both
Japanese and Western style, and all include a hearty breakfast. Ryokans are also renowned for their Japanese food, and Jon Nobi won’t disappoint with a large restaurant and bar set over two levels serving local delicacies and Sake.
Shiro Nozawa luxury western-style apartments are new to Nozawa Onsen Village, and have been renovated from an old Japanese ryokan. The renovation has set out to retain the charm of the old Japanese building while incorporating new western-style design and luxury. Shiro has a combination of one, two and three bedroom apartments. All the Shiro apartments are fully self-contained and with fully-equipped kitchens. There is a private onsen in the building for guests, and some apartments have their own private onsen baths, the first western style apartments to offer this in the village. The lodge also contains its own café, complete with foot onsen from which to sip your tea, hot chocolate, latte or beer.
